Yellow Warbler (Setophaga petechia)
- HABITAT - Yellow Warblers are the most widespread species of warbler, breeding in almost the whole of North America, the Caribbean, and down to northern South America. Their preferred habitat is moist thickets, especially along streams and in swampy areas or gardens. About half of the nesting species breed in the Canada’s boreal forest.
- DIET - Yellow Warbler feeds mostly on insects and spiders that it acquires by foraging in trees and bushes. They also readily eat berries.
- FACTS - Aptly named as it is the yellowest of the New World Warblers. Only the burgundy breast streaks of male's plumage breaks the colour.
