Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata)
- HABITAT - The Yellow-rumped Warbler is one of the most abundant warblers in the boreal forest. It breeds from northern Alaska to Newfoundland south in West to northern Mexico and in East to Michigan and the New England states. The spend their winters from southern part of breeding range southward into tropics.
- DIET - Yellow-rumped Warblers eat insects during the breeding season. During the fall and winter, Palm Warblers feast on seeds, insects, and berries as well as nectar. On migration and in winter they eat seeds, fruits and berries.
- FACTS - Yellow-rumped Warbler are one of the last warblers to migrate in fall and one of the first to return in spring. One winter, we had a single Yellow-rumped Warbler visit our backyard feeders multiple times which meant that it did stayed in the area all winter.
