Black-throated Green Warbler (Setophaga virens)
- HABITAT - The Black-throated Green Warblers breeding habitat is coniferous and mixed forests in eastern North America and western Canada. It spends the winter in eastern and southern Mexico and Central America.
- DIET - Black-throated Green Warblers eat almost exclusively insects during the breeding season, especially caterpillars, which they glean from small branches on both coniferous and deciduous trees.
- FACTS - We generally hear the Black-throated Green Warbler before we see it. They have a very distinctive buzzing song that sounds like zee-zee-zee-zee-zee-zoo-zee! and zooo-zeee-zoozoo-zeee!
