Field Sparrow (Spizella pusilla)
- HABITAT - Field Sparrows live in brushy overgrown fields, second growth woodland edges, hedgerows in open country. Field sparrows are found throughout the eastern United States from just east of the Rocky Mountains to the Atlantic Coast . They are also found in southern Ontario and southernmost Quebec. - DIET - Field sparrows diet in the summer is mainly insects with some grass seeds. In the winter, their diet is mostly grass seeds. They generally forages on ground or in low vegetation
- FACTS - Field Sparrows are easy to identify with their entirely pink bill, pink legs and unstreaked breast.
