Europen Starling (Bombycilla cedrorum)
- HABITAT - The Starling was originally native to temperate Europe and across to western Mongolia. It has been introduced to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa and Fiji. They seem to be drawn to cities and towns and typically live around people.
- DIET - Starlings are opportunists will eat nearly anything, but they focus on insects and other invertebrates. They gather in large flocks and can easily overrun backyard feeders.
- FACTS - Starlings can be fun to watch with their crazy antics and wide variety of sounds and calls. They often watch other birds and imitate them. The follow American Robins and steal food when the robins gets a worm or grub. If a bird bathes in the bird bath, soon dozens of Starlings will jump in too.
