Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula)
- HABITAT - Baltimore Orioles breed in eastern and east-central North America. They prefer open woodland, forest edge and groves. They spend their winters in Central America in open woodlands, plantations and gardens.
- DIET - They also forage for insects and fruits in brush and shrubbery. Baltimore Orioles have adapted well to human settlement and often feed and nest in parks, orchards, and backyards. They frequently visit flowering trees in search of fruit and nectar.
- FACTS - Baltimore Orioles can be attracted to backyards by providing orange slices and there are oriole feeders design for fruit. For some reason, they are attracted to the orange colour. A trick is to offer the feeder early in the season so it is available before they arrive.
