Horned Lark (Eremophila alpestris)
- HABITAT - The Horned Lark's preferred habitat is open land with little or no tree including plains, fields, beaches and tundra. The Horned Lark is found across the Northern Hemisphere.
- DIET - The Horned Lark feeds on seeds, insects, spiders and snails that it finds on the ground.
- FACTS - Horned Larks forage by walking and running on the ground, picking up items from ground or from plants low enough to reach. Except when nesting, they usually forage in flocks.
- Although the Horned Larks are widespread, they are very rare in our area with only the ocassional sighting noted.
