Goldcrest (Regulus regulus)
- HABITAT - Goldcrests are widespread in coniferous and mixed forests throughout Europe and parts of Asia. They prefer coniferous and mixed woodlands, especially during the breeding season. Outside of the breeding season, they may also be found in other wooded habitats.
- DIET - Goldcrests primarily feed on insects and spiders. They are known for their ability to glean tiny insects from the tips of branches. They are highly active and constantly on the move as they search for small insects and other invertebrates.
- FACTS - The Goldcrest is a small bird that belongs to the kinglet family.They are one of the smallest birds in Europe, measuring around 8 to 9 centimeters (3.1 to 3.5 inches) in length.
