Philadelphia Vireo (Vireo philadelphicus)
- HABITAT - The Philadelphia Vireo’s breeding habitat is the edges of deciduous and mixed woods across Canada and they migrate to Mexico and Central America. They are unlikely to visit Philadelphia, except, perhaps passing through during migration.
- DIET - They forage for insects in trees, sometimes hovering or flying to catch insects in flight. They also eat berries, especially before migration. Philadelphia Vireos rarely go on the ground.
- FACTS - There are fewer Philadelphia Vireos than other vireos. They are also less seen because they don’t usually return to their breeding grounds until most of the leaves are on the trees.
