Fish Crow (Corvus ossifragus)
- HABITAT - Fish Crows generally live along beaches, marshes, estuaries, lakes, and rivers on the east coast of United States. However, a single Fish Crow visited our area, quite a ways from its usual range, during spring migration. It was identified by a prominent birder who recognized it intially by its call.
- DIET - Fish Crows will feed on practically anything it can find, including carrion, crabs, shrimp, crayfish, a wide variety of insects, berries, seeds, nuts, bird eggs, turtle eggs, and garbage.
- FACTS - They have a bad reputation for raiding the nests of other birds including nests of colonial waterbirds.
