Redshank (Limosa limosa)
- HABITAT - The Redshank is widespread, breeding bird across temperate Eurasia. They winter on coasts around the Mediterranean, on the Atlantic coast of Europe from Ireland and Great Britain southwards, and in South Asia.
- DIET - Red Shanks use their long straight bills to probe for invertebrates like worms and crustaceans, although they will take swimming prey like tadpoles and small fish.
- FACTS - The Redshank is named for its red-orange legs.
