Bonaparte's Gull (Chroicocephalus philadelphia)
- HABITAT - Bonaparte's Gull preferred habitats include large lakes, rivers, and marshlands. During the summer, they breed across subarctic North America from western Alaska to the Hudson Bay. They spend winters along Atlantic coast from Virginia to northern Mexico, and along the Pacific coast from Washington south to central Mexico. Preferred habitats include large lakes, rivers, and marshlands.
- DIET - Bonaparte's Gull feeds mainly on insects, which it catches in mid-flight. It also eats fish which it catches by wading and diving.
- FACTS - The Bonaparte's Gull is the only gull that regularly nests in trees.
