Common Loon (Gavia immer)
- HABITAT - Lakes surrounded by forest and rocky shorelines. They spend almost all the time on the water except for the few weeks when the sit on the nest. They migrate south to the Atlantic ocean.
- DIET - Their diet consists of mostly fish, particularly perch and sunfish on their northern lakes. If fish are scarce or water is too murky for fishing, they will catch crustaceans, snails, leeches and even aquatic insect larvae.
