The Brent Run

A short account of the Brent Run canoe trip in Algonquin Park, ON. This is a series of videos with a few stills from a paddling adventure from July 2014. The Brent Run trip starts at Canoe Lake, goes to Brent Station and return. The total length is 160km with 46 portages. Some people do this trip without stopping. We decided to take our time and spend 10 days in this wonderful Algonquin interior.

A short little video of Eastern Towhee singing. Towhees like to perch high in a tree and sing their song defending their territory.

Little Black Spider Wasp   

Spider Wasps locate spiders cues and sting them to paralyze but not kill them. Once paralyzed, the wasp carries the spider to its burrow, where it lays an egg on the spider's body. After the egg hatches, the larva feeds on the still-living spider until it pupates.

Wow! What a Winter

Winter of 2013-2014 was one of those real winters like we used to have 30years ago with record snowfall and thick ice on our ponds and lakes. The winter was very harsh on humans and nature alike. But also offered some great photo opportunities for those who were willing to venture out
