- Habitat:n Uncommon plant which can be found growing near streams or swampy areas within forested regions.
- Native/Non-native: Native to Eastern North America
- Also called Two-leaved in referring to the number of stem leaves. It blooms in the spring in decidious woodlands.
- Cardamine is a Greek word (kardamon) which means cress. Diphylla means “with two leaves” in Latin.
