- Habitat: Fields and open areas
- Native/Non-native: Native to northern Africa, Europe, and Asia, but has spread throughout the world. It is non-native to eastern North America where is very common.
- Bittersweet Nightshade is also called climbing nightshade as it is a vine.
- Latin dulcamara translates to “sweet-bitter” from the Latin words dulce (sweet) and amarus (bitter).
