- Habitat: Bogs, swamps and wet meadows.
- Native/Non-native: Native to north eastern North America
- Low, prostrate, broadleaf-evergreen mat, less than 3 ft. high. Leaves are glossy, leathery and dark blue-green.
- Poisonous to animals and people. Bees who pollinate the plant will produce poisonous honey.
