- Habitat: Fields, roadsides and open areas.
- Native/Non-native: Native to Europe, introduced to North America.
- Flowers bloom between June and October.
- Tragopogon pratensis can be distinguished from T.dubius by deeper yellow flowers, the narrower stem just below the receptacle, bracts not extending beyond the rays, and the curling of leaf blade tips.
